WiAT – Women in Aviation Training

Launched at EATS 2023, Women in Aviation Training (WiAT) is an initiative focused on providing practical ways to support all women in the aviation training industry. The aim of Women in Aviation Training is to bring together a community of motivated individuals to support and encourage growth and ambition and to empower change.

The aim is to provide every member with a community network along with a useful toolkit of information in order to fulfil their personal goals. Training Beyond the Mistake.
Training in aviation, in every department, is focused on the prevention of accidents, so we don’t train beyond a mistake. Mistakes are inevitable and acceptable within the circle of safety, but what happens when layers of decision-making bring an aircraft or decision beyond the parameter of normal operations? What do you do now? This workshop is intended to discuss decision-making in aviation and to bring the conversation into an area that is not discussed; what to do after you’ve made a mistake. From dispatching errors to the accidental shutting down of engines, we’ll take a deeper look into what we can do as a community to think beyond the unthinkable.
